In Inspection Complete & More Progress, we thought we were closing in on cabinet install, but after the following Monday, it didn't look that way. The general contractor came out to finish hanging the remaining drywall and cut the space for the gas on/off for the fireplace. That's all that happened. The flooring crew didn't show up to finish the front hall. I'm typing this wondering what is on the agenda for today because it was a very low communication day yesterday.

Tuesday and Wednesday

On Tuesday, the only thing that happened was the drywall inspection. It was completed early in the afternoon. The flooring guy didn't show up again and didn't sound like he'd be back until end of the week. Fortunately, Wednesday has already been a flurry of activity. The drywall finishers were on the job site at 7 a.m. and were well underway when I left to take our youngest to school. I made a trip back to the house to pick up some things and as I was leaving, the flooring guy showed up, so I left the house looking forward to what kind of progress I could expect when I got home.

The Flooring is Done!

THE FLOORING WAS DONE!!! That sentence isn't accessible in all caps but that's how I felt finally seeing all of the flooring installed. That looks like real progress. As you can also see in the closet picture, the first day of taping and mudding is complete. We were told they'd return in the morning at 7:00 a.m., so I'm hopeful for another day of progress.

Mudding and Taping Continues

The drywall finishing crew arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. again the next morning and were fast at work. I spent the day trying not to be too eager over what I might see when I get home, but after the general contractor confirmed our paint colors with us, that had me hopeful that we'd see more progress.

More progress indeed. The drywall finishing made more progress and as of the Friday morning we're told that cabinets will be installed on Saturday. When I left for the day, they had already started skim-coating the walls, so things were picking up the pace.
