With demolition complete, we're now starting to see what the space will eventually be. The first bit of progress is with the complete removal of the old wet bar space, the wall between that and the master bedroom closet, and framing up what will be the rest of the living room wall.

The View (no longer) into the Sunroom
Then we see where the living room entrance to the sun-room will be closed off.

And Then There Was a Vent!
There's also the not so small matter of the vent being added to the living room. Even without the wall finished behind it, we already notice a significant comfort improvement with cool air being blown into the room. The team filled in where the old vent was before the sun-room addition in both the living room and kitchen.

A Spaghetti Mess of Electrical
This is when things start to get really interesting. As the team demoed the wall that was between the kitchen and living room, they were only going to remove essentially the bottom half. The expectation was there would need to be some level of support in the middle because the wall is load-bearing. They ended up taking down all of the drywall on the living room side because so much of the electrical work was running up through the attic before going down into the basement. I suppose that means demo wasn't complete as of the last post.

At this point, we had to wait for a structural engineer to come by and make recommendations for how best to handle the bracing and framing to handle the load. We'll see the results of those recommendations in the next post: Starting to Take Shape – Our First Major Remodel.
