In 2023, we decided it was finally time to update our dated kitchen and dive into our first major interior remodeling project. Our First Major Remodel was born. This is the hub to the ongoing posts while living through our first major interior remodel. It will be updated until the project is complete.

Back in 2023, we worked with an architect to draw up how we wanted to transform our kitchen, living room, and master bedroom closet. We chose our general contractor and signed a proposal in November. In December, cabinet designs by Fine Wood Works were completed. We originally targeted a March/April 2024 job start.

We traveled to Europe for about two and a half weeks in June, so we asked to move our job start date while we'd be out of town. We hoped that would make the progress easier and get the job done before the school year started. The job was delayed until August 14th, which is the day the dumpster was delivered. On August 15th, demo began, just a few days before the school year started. The dates for each post represent the last day of progress represented. How close were we to the 3-4 week estimate? To quote Bob Uecker, "Just a bit outside."
